The majority of current smartphones support telephone services (hands-free mode), media player (A2DP and AVRCP) and navigation (SPP/ iAP). BMW Motorrad Connected App for devices with an up-to-date iOS operating system or an up-to-date Android operating system. Type and scope of the navigation depends on the technical environment as well as the user's end device. Navigation can be used as part of the BMW Motorrad Connected app as long as BWM Motorrad receives map data and navigation services from a third-party provider, but at least 3 years from first registration.

Bluetooth connection between TFT display and communication system: compatibility is guaranteed for the BWM Motorrad communication system. Successful connection with other Bluetooth communication systems is entirely likely due to the Bluetooth standard used, but cannot be guaranteed by BMW Motorrad. Volume adjustment via Multi-Controller only works with BMW Motorrad communication systems.

Map data for all the covered countries and regions can be downloaded locally onto the smartphone in the BMW Motorrad Connected app. It is strongly recommended that you download the map data as you are thereby not restricted by network coverage. With locally downloaded maps, the customer is always on the safe side and can navigate quickly and easily. The use of the online navigation may lead to roaming charges and a high mobile data transfer. The map data can be downloaded in just a few steps: BMW Motorrad Connected app menu „MORE”, then „Download maps“; clicking the arrow symbol in the upper right corner allows to select to-be-downloaded regions.
No personal data is used or stored.
No. The BMW Motorrad Navigator's audio output can only be used if the Navigator is directly connected to the in-helmet communication system.
Bluetooth connection: Establishing a Bluetooth connection, the so-called pairing of the TFT-display with your mobile device and the BMW Motorrad Communication System is described in full detail in the rider’s manual. In some cases, it may be necessary to repeat pairing. The rider’s manual also offers useful hints and troubleshooting in case of any problems.
Audio output: For optimal audio output while listening to music or being on the phone it is useful to set the audio output level on the mobile device to maximum. Audio volume while riding can then be regulated directly using the in-helmet communication system volume control or the Multi-Controller (when using a BWM Motorrad Communication System).
Navigation: Downloading map data on the smartphone via the BMW Motorrad Connected app makes the rider independent of network coverage and roaming. In the BMW Motorrad Connected app: menu „MORE”, then „Download maps“. Clicking the arrow symbol in the upper right corner allows to select to-be-downloaded regions.
